In celebration of Thanksgiving here in the United States, [livejournal.com profile] wcredux wants you to recommend your fanworks that center around family and domesticity. One of the things that is so integral to White Collar is that families take many forms, and the strongest families are not formed by blood or by traditional vows.

Remember - you can recommend one of your fanworks for the theme and the fanwork must be at least six months old (i.e., published before May 2016), but the older the fanwork, the better.

Posts for this theme will be open until November 30. Eventually, your mods will collect the recommendations and add them to the master list.

Theme: Family and Domesticity
Original Publication Date: 21 November 2012
Content Notes: Drug Use
Summary: Part of the Paladin 'Verse. Peter’s folks invite Neal to spend Thanksgiving with them. Peter’s not exactly sure introducing Neal to them will be a good thing.
Why should people re-read this story?: The idea for this story was originally fleshed out in 2010, shortly after I started writing White Collar fic, but it languished in my WIP folder for almost two years. It still makes me laugh out loud.

Characters/Pairings: Peter, Neal, Diana, Jones - gen / no pairings (background Peter/El and Diana/Christie)
Rating: PG
Word Count: 1,642
Theme: family
Original Publication Date: December 31, 2013
Content Notes: none
Summary: This was not how Peter had planned to spend New Year’s Eve...
Why should people re-read this story?: I think just about every single comment that was left on this fic started with "awww!!!" I've focused on the other family in White Collar canon, namely the non-traditional one between the members of Team Burke. How they all help each other out and are there for each other. It was fun to explore their friendship and what they each bring to the table to make this particular family stronger.

Characters/Pairings: Elizabeth Burke Peter Burke, Neal Caffrey, OMC, OFC (Peter/Elizabeth, Neal/Sara)
Rating: PG
Word Count: ~4000
Theme: November – Family and Domesticity
Original Publication Date: 28 December 2013
Content Notes: None
Summary: Peter has retired from the FBI, Elizabeth has sold her business and they have settled in Peter's boyhood hometown of Silver Lake, in upstate New York. Like the title says, it's the details of unremarkable days. With puppies.
Why should people re-read this story?: It’s a gentle story where not a lot happens, but there’s a lot going on – Peter and Elizabeth are raising puppies. Neal is the mayor of the town. They’ve built a new and very satisfying life. It’s a story about choices and family and love and everything we hold dear. Also, I’ll be writing the “Winter” piece for Fic-Can-Ukah in the coming weeks, and possibly Summer or Fall, too.

Characters/Pairings: Peter/Neal/Elizabeth
Rating: PG-13
Word Count: ~3715
Theme: Family and Domesticity
Original Publication Date: July 24, 2012
Content Notes: A bit of post-anklet OT3 domesticity.
Summary: The three of them are still learning what it takes to make this relationship work, but there's no question it's worth the effort. Luckily for Peter & Neal, they have El. And ice cream.
Why should people re-read this story?: In the words of one of the commenters, "The whole thing was sweet and sensual and hit just the right note of familiarity combined with exploration." My writing is largely pretty gen, so hitting the right notes in the sensuality department was something I was proud of. And I called Mozzie and Storage Wars!
