September Theme - Back to Work - Case Fics

The days are getting noticeably shorter and with Labor Day, it's time to buckle down, put away the flip-flops and bathing suits and get back to work. Which means it's a good time to recommend your White Collar case fics – stories that focus on solving a mystery, or maybe plugging up a plot hole from an episode.

Remember - you can recommend one of your fanworks for the theme and the fanwork must be at least six months old (i.e., published before March, 2015), but the older the fanwork, the better.

You can always recommend as many fanworks from other creators as you want to (but do check to see that they haven't yet been rec'd here on [livejournal.com profile] wcredux), and they must also be at least six month old.

August Theme Is Closed

Thank you everyone for your Villain-focused fanwork recommendations. The theme is now closed.

The round-up post for recommendations and the update to the community master list will be issued next week.

Special Theme Week - The Week of August 25 – Peter's Birthday

In Shot Through the Heart, via Rachel Turner's massive collection of paper files (and the magic of screen caps), we learned that Peter's birthday is August 25. For the entire week (August 25 – September 1), [livejournal.com profile] wcredux is asking for recommendations for stories featuring Peter-as-child or Kid!Peter (de-aged) fanworks.

Same rules apply to Special Theme Weeks - one fanwork, and it must be at least six month old (written before February, 2015).

You can always recommend as many fanworks from other creators as you want to (but do check to see that they haven't yet been rec'd here on [livejournal.com profile] wcredux), and they must also be at least six month old.

August Recommendations - All Villains, All the Time

White Collar has featured some spectacular and very memorable villains. Some have ostensibly been on the "right" side of the law, like Ruiz, Philip Kramer and Garrett Fowler, others have been season-long "big bads" like Vincent Adler, Matthew Keller, Curtis Hagen, Rebecca Lowe/Rachel Turner, Terrence Pratt, and Alan Woodford. And there have been the memorable one-shots, like Ryan Wilkes, Edward Walker, Andy Woods, Avery Philips and Ford Tolman.

As with recommendations for the June Theme, the fanwork you rec should feature the villain – not just mention him or her in passing. The fanwork doesn't have to be about that character, but the character should have a major role in the fanwork.

Remember - you can recommend one of your fanworks for the theme and the fanwork must be at least six months old (i.e., published before February 2015), but the older the fanwork, the better.

You can always recommend as many fanworks from other creators as you want to (but do check to see that they haven't yet been rec'd here on [livejournal.com profile] wcredux), and they must also be at least six month old.

July Theme Is Closed

Thank you everyone for your smexy fanwork recommendations. The theme is now closed.

The round-up post for recommendations and the update to the community master list will be issued next week.

July Recommendations - All Hot and Bothered

If February is for love and May is the month for friendship fanworks, July is the month where we want your recommendations for fanworks designed to get everyone all hot and bothered. Fanworks don't have to be X-Rated or super kinky (but we'd like it if they are). And we want all flavors of smut - slash or het, OTP or OT3, or solo pleasures.

Remember - you can recommend one of your fanworks for the theme and the fanwork must be at least six months old (i.e., published before January, 2015), but the older the fanwork, the better.

You can always recommend as many fanworks from other creators as you want to (but do check to see that they haven't yet been rec'd here on [livejournal.com profile] wcredux), and they must also be at least six month old.

June Theme Is Closed

Thank you everyone for your Secondary Characters fanwork recommendations. The theme is now closed.

The round-up post for recommendations and the update to the community master list will be issued next week.

June Theme – Secondary Characters

On and off for a number of years, there was a community of Dreamwidth called "The Month of June", which focused on Neal's lovely and larcenous landlady, June Ellington. New fanworks were posted for each day of the sixth month of the year. Rather than replicate that here, the month of June is devoted to White Collar's wonderful secondary characters: Diana, Clinton, Hughes, Lauren, June, Satchmo, Sara, Kate, Alex, Blake, Bugsy. (Any recurring character other than Peter, Neal, Elizabeth or Mozzie.)

Note: Technically, Philip Kramer, Vincent Adler, Matthew Keller, Curtis Hagen, Garrett Fowler, Rebecca Lowe/Rachel Turner, and Alan Woodford are recurring secondary characters, but the theme for August is "Villains" and you might want to save those recs for that month.

The fanwork you rec should feature the secondary character – not just mention him or her in passing. The fanwork doesn't have to be about that character, but the character should have a major role in the fanwork.

Remember - you can recommend one of your fanworks for the theme and the fanwork must be at least six months old (i.e., published before December, 2014), but the older the fanwork, the better.

You can always recommend as many fanworks from other creators as you want to (but do check to see that they haven't yet been rec'd here on [livejournal.com profile] wcredux), and they must also be at least six month old.

May Theme Is Closed

Thank you everyone for your Friendship fanwork recommendations. The theme is now closed.

The round-up post for recommendations and the update to the community master list will be issued next week.

May Recommendations – Friendship

It's May and bromance is in the air.

The friendship between Peter and Neal, between Neal and Elizabeth, Neal and Moz, Neal and June and between all of the other White Collar characters is legendary. May is the month to celebrate the friendships that drew us into the show and kept us coming back season after season, so share with us your stories about all of the good friends.

Remember - you can recommend one of your fanworks for the theme and the fanwork must be at least six months old (i.e., published before November 2014), but the older the fanwork, the better.

You can always recommend as many fanworks from other creators as you want to (but do check to see that they haven't yet been rec'd here on [livejournal.com profile] wcredux), and they must also be at least six month old.

April Theme Is Closed

Thank you everyone for your Humor and Fun and Cracky fanwork recommendations. The theme is now closed.

The round-up post for recommendations and the update to the community master list will be issued next week.

April Recommendations - Humor and Crack

Who doesn't like a good joke, practical or otherwise? Fanworks with featuring humor and fun, or are simply cracky, are the focus for April. Please recommend stories and vids and art that make you LOL or ROTFL, or ROTFLMAO, or simply smile.

Remember - you can recommend one of your fanworks for the theme and the fanwork must be at least six months old (i.e., published before October 2014), but the older the fanwork, the better.

You can always recommend as many fanworks from other creators as you want to (but do check to see that they haven't yet been rec'd here on [livejournal.com profile] wcredux), and they must also be at least six month old.

Thank you everyone for your Neal-as-child or Kid!Neal (de-aged) fanwork recommendations.

The special theme is now closed.

Special Theme Week - The Week of March 21 - Celebrating Neal’s Birthday

In Ancient History, we learned that Neal's birthday is March 21 (and he's an Aries). For the entire week (March 21 – March 27), [livejournal.com profile] wcredux is asking for recommendations for stories featuring Neal-as-child or Kid!Neal (de-aged) fanworks.

Same rules apply to Special Theme Weeks - one story that you've written, and it must be at least six month old (written before September, 2014).

You can always recommend as many fanworks from other creators as you want to (but do check to see that they haven't yet been rec'd here on [livejournal.com profile] wcredux), and they must also be at least six month old.

March Recommendations – Hurt/Comfort

Since the very beginning of the White Collar Fandom, the theme of Hurt/Comfort has been preeminent. The White Collar Hurt/Comfort Community is one of the most vibrant on LJ and your mods know how much fanworks creators love this theme. That's why we're opening up the throttle and letting everyone's inner hurt-comforteers run free.

Instead of one fanwork this month, creators can make multiple recs of their own creations here on [livejournal.com profile] wcredux. But (and isn't there always a "but") each recommendation has to feature a different whumpee. For example, one self-rec can have Neal as the whumpee, another rec, Peter, and a third might be Elizabeth, and so on.

The age rules for the fanwork are still in effect – the work must be at least six months old (i.e., published before September 2014), and of course, the older the fanwork, the better.

You can always recommend as many fanworks from other creators as you want to (but do check to see that they haven't yet been rec'd here on [livejournal.com profile] wcredux), and they must also be at least six month old.

February Theme is Closed

Thank you everyone for your Romantic and Schmoopy fanwork recommendations. The theme is now closed.

The round-up post for recommendations and the update to the community master list will be issued next week.

February Recommendations - Romance and Schmoop

Some of us hate St. Valentine's Day and the manufactured romance, but you have to admit that it makes for a potent theme in the bleakness of mid-winter. [livejournal.com profile] wcredux wants your romantic and your schmoopy fanwork recommendations. And if you find that you are opposed, in principal, to the very idea of Valentine's Day, then give us a recommendation for a trainwreck of a relationship.

Remember - you can recommend one of your fanworks for the theme and the fanwork must be at least six months old (i.e., published before August 2014), but the older the fanwork, the better.

The January Theme is NOT Closed

My most modly and humble apologies.

I use the scheduled posting feature and accidentally put in the wrong date. The January Theme - First Times - is NOT closed.

Please post your self- and other recs for first time stories until January 31st.

Thank you.

January Recommendations - First Times

It's a New Year, and what better time to bring out the old fanworks! Because it's a new year, it's also a time for fresh starts and new beginnings and very first times. That can mean anything - a first date, a first kiss, a first night in prison! [livejournal.com profile] wcredux wants you to share your best White Collar first times for the entire month of January.

Remember - you can recommend one of your fanworks for the theme and the fanwork must be at least six months old (i.e., published before July 2014), but the older the fanwork, the better.
