Why should people re-read this story?: This is one of my earliest stories, written just before the second season began airing. At the time, we knew a little about Neal and Peter's backstory (you chased me for three years, you knew my shoe size), but not how they first met or the actual circumstances of Neal's arrest. When I wrote this, I was sort of forming the world that became the Paladin Verse, it was still a fairly amorphous idea - more a concept that Neal has been fixated on Peter for many years, as far back as their first meeting. Even though the circumstances were not as I imagined, I like to think that Neal never stopped thinking about Peter, ever.
