I remember reading that one and of course I have a POV on this piece of work ( I have a POV on everything you've written my dear). Lol. Anyway, I love Wings of Desire so naturally I was a great fan of this one. It's probably the melancholy and the poetry side of it that I like so much. The writing is also highly evocative and you can visualize everything, almost like a scene in a feature film. I think it's Neal's longing for love in a way, love that he did find while he was alive with Peter, El and Moz. He continues to look after his beloved ones. I remember the part about Kate, though. I found interesting that he couldn't reach for Kate in the afterlife, exactly like what happened between the two of them in real life. I took it as Neal and Kate were not meant to be. I alwys wondered what inspired you to write this one? Was it the film itself? Or something that happened to you that particular day? We, writers sometimes start a piece of fic for so many reasons... It's a beautiful piece of work, anyhow, one of my favs in this genre, thus my comment today. Hope you are well. Hugs
